Basic Rules of Airsoft Combat

SAFETY

KEEP ALL WEAPONS UNLOADED WHILE IN THE STAGING AREA.

Follow these easy steps to remain safe.

Remove the magazine from the weapon.

Discharge the weapon in a safe direction before entering staging area.

Place weapon on SAFE.

Keep your finger away from the trigger until ready to shoot.
Use muzzle bags/plugs when available

Once play has begun the staging area is off limits. Only players who did not participate in the game, or those who have been eliminated are to be in the staging area during a game. If you are caught using the staging area as a play zone you will be ejected from play. (The staging area is the area that borders 100 feet in all directions from where the vehicles are parked or otherwise designated. Most times this will be marked with orange safety cones, yellow caution tape, or bright ground marking paint.)

Eye Protection

Goggles must be ANSI 87.1 ballistic rated.

Safety glasses may be worn if they can withstand a point blank shot from the highest FPS weapon on the field and not be damaged.

(CAUTION : DO NOT REMOVE YOUR GOGGLES OR SAFETY GLASSES FOR

ANY REASON WHILE ON THE FIELD!!!)

Other Body Parts

Neck and face protection is each player's own preference.

Boots with ankle support is strongly advised.

Arms, Legs, Groin , and Breast protection is left to personal preference.

DO NOT wear clothing that will expose your underwear/undergarments or that hang loosely around your waist (ie. Baggy pants or shorts or sweat pants) as they can work their way down and become a severe tripping hazard. It can also be considered as offensive to some players.

DRUGS / ALCOHOL

No illegal substances as defined by the Drug Enforcement Agency. No prescription

medications if they have not been prescribed to you. If the prescription drugs you are using alter your moods, depth perception or have other adverse side effects you may not play while you are on the medication.

No alcoholic beverages for anyone under the legal age. If you are underage and are caught under the influence or in possession of alcoholic beverages/illegal narcotics, you and/or the person who gave it to you will be ejected from the game and most likely from the team. You may also be reported to law enforcement.

REAL FIREARMS

If you bring a real firearm leave it in your vehicle out of sight of others AT ALL TIMES. Follow the Arizona Revised Statutes concerning firearms and the use of firearms.
When in doubt, DON'T DO IT!

PYROTECHNICS

No pyrotechnic devices unless pre-tested and approved before the game. Pyrotechnic devices must be approved by the council and the R & D personnel. Contact FYREGOD or Gunslinger no later than 4 weeks prior to an event to have pyrotechnics tested. Also make sure you have spares. R&D will need at least 2 of the pyrotechnic devices in question, fo r testing.

DISCRIMINATION

ABSOLUTELY NO discrimination for any reason. This includes gestures, comments,

jokes, symbols, or touches, that may be considered offensive in the following areas.

Race

Sexual Preference

Religion

Political Preference

Gender

WEAPONS

No weapon may have a muzzle velocity of greater than 500 fps without a certification license. You MUST provide this license prior to each event the weapon is to be used.
Follow the guidelines set forth below.

TPMC FPS readings and weapon limitations by TPMC.

Preferable to use Coca-Cola brand can. Some other Coke product cans may work but to date ONLY coke cans have been used. It is suggested to stay with what is known to work.

Place weapon muzzle 1 - 2 inches from surface of the can.

There are six ranges of penetration on a Coke can:

One Side……………. 290+FPS

Both Sides………….. 340+FPS MAX Limit CQB

Bottom Center……… 385+FPS*

Bottom Edge………... 450+FPS

Top Center………….. 470+FPS

Top Edge…………… 500+FPS MAX Limit Sniper

*According to RedWolf Airsoft this area is penetrated at 430FPS. However, in O.K.

testing, and that of others, we can consistently penetrate this area of a can at a minimum of 385fps.

ALL weapons above 385 fps must employ 50' NO FIRE zone

ALL snipers will be tested on estimation of the no fire zone.

All players must be shot by their own weapon at minimum distance for that weapon class and on bare skin.
Ranges are as follows per FPS limits.

0 – 385 FPS 20 feet

386 + FPS 50 feet

Any player not willing to submit to this test with their weapon will have that weapon

immediately disallowed from further games until such a time as a mechanical chrono

reading can be verified proving the weapon safe for use.

SURRENDER CALLS

Surrenders may be called under the following conditions.

You are within 10 - 20 feet of your opponent.

You have total control of the situation.

When a surrender is called on you, you do not have to accept the surrender (however it is highly suggested). If you accept the surrender move your hand away from the weapon, state the phrase "I surrender" or something to that effect to show you are willing to accept the surrender.
You may NEVER fake a surrender. Once you verbally state it, you're done.

REMEMBER : if you decline a surrender call you will be shot at very close range and the FPS based "no-fire zone" is void in this case.

REFEREE / MAJESTRATE

Some games may call for a Referee. If this is the case the Referee or Referee's decisions on rules are final. The Referee may remove any player from the field at any time for any reason. Their decisions cannot be questioned during an event. File complaints with the council. If you object during game-time, you will be ejected from the field for the remainder of the event.

AMMUNITION

Weights from .12 to .36 are permissible. (.20gr BIO-DEGRADABLE bb's are

recommended)

No metallic bb's are permitted. This includes chrome plated or aluminum bb's

Calibers of 6mm to 8mm are permissible, however there is a FPS limitation of 100 fps

slower for all 8mm weapons and an additional 25' "no-fire zone".

8mm CQB limit is 250 FPS

8mm Open Field limit is 300 FPS

8mm Sniper limit is 400 FPS (8mm Sniper employs 75 foot no fire zone)

HITS CALLS

When hit, place your death rag in a highly visible area of your body or weapon, (ie. On your head or through the front site of your weapon with that weapon held high above your head.) so it can be seen by all players and remove yourself from the field to the staging area. DO NOT talk to anyone, alive or dead, until you have arrived at the staging area. Do not make any motions that could give away another players position while removing yourself from the field.
If you are shot while exitting the field, do NOT say anything... afterall, YOU ARE DEAD, suck it up and move on.

DO NOT call some one else out.

If they are honorable they will call themselves out.

Sometimes a player may not feel a hit. If they consistently do not call themselves out, let a Referee, Magistrate, or Host of the game know so they can deal with the player. Keep in mind that unless more than one player saw the infractions it is very hard to prove a charge of ghosting.

If you are hit you are out.

If you are hit on your weapon you may switch to your secondary weapon if you have

one.

If you think you have been hit but are not sure, call yourself out.

Tree branches and other things can sound like a hit when they smack your gear. If you

are not sure if you were hit by a bb, call yourself out. It is more honorable to call

yourself out for a questionable hit than to have actually been hit and get marked as a

cheater.

Ghosting or not calling hits will not be tolerated. Ghosting will get you thrown off the field and may result in you not being invited to any future events.

Ghosting is intentionally not calling yourself out when hit.

DEATH AND DYING

All players are encouraged to "die well". This is to add to the realism of the game. Besides it's just plain fun to watch your opponent "die" on the field.

If there is combat still going on around you when you are KIA stay on the ground "dead" (moving as little as possible) until all activity has cleared the area, then remove yourself from the field.

BREECH OF THE RULES

A breech of these rules for any reason can result in one of the following reprimands:

Facing the firing squad

Suspension from games

Sanctions against the player and public announcement of the offenses.

SPECIAL SCENARIO RULES

MEDIC RULES

If hit in an appendage of the body that would not constitute an immediate kill you may call for the medic. The medic will then respond if able and sit with you for one (1) minute. At this point you may resume play.

You will be issued 2 HIT RAGS. If hit you may call for the medic. The medic will respond to you if able and will take one of your hit rags. If you have no more hit rags, you are dead.

If the medic is killed, and there is no other medic available for your team, then all medic rules become null and void.

AIRSOFT ORDINANCE

Grenades... DO NOT intentionally throw these at players

Fragmentation Grenades

Blast radius of 20 feet from point of impact or detonation

Flash Bangs

Simulate disorientation by closing eyes, and count to 60.
During this time, you may move, but you may NOT open your eyes for any reason.
Beware of hazards while moving blind.

Land and Anti-Personnel mines

Blast radius of 30 feet from point of detonation

Rocket launchers

Blast radius of 30 feet from point of impact

Mortars and Artillery

40 feet from point of impact

KNIFE KILLS

Knife kills are very hard to accomplish. They can be very

embarrassing for the victim. So, it is suggested to use the surrender rule instead. However if you should decide to use a knife kill remember the following guidelines.

Use either a rubber or soft-plastic knife. (no plastic silverware!!!)

Touch the victim on the shoulder with the knife

INFORM the victim that it is a knife kill.

DO NOT USE ANY PLAYERS AS A HUMAN SHIELD OR HOSTAGE.

UNIFORM REGULATION

It is suggested that all members have two sets of military style uniforms. These uniforms should consist of the two basic types. A green colored uniform type such as woodland pattern, marpat, etc. were the dominant color is a shade of green. The second should be of tan, desert tiger stripe, 3 color desert, etc. Some Camouflage patterns may be able to be utilized as either, such as the new ARMY ACU's, or even Hunter type camouflage. Organized Khaos does not require that your uniform be of military type camouflage however it may be preferred depending on your squad leader. Military patches are not permissible unless you have the authority to wear such an insignia. This means any unit, branch of service, or other ARMED FORCES designation patches are not to be worn by any member unless they have served or are currently serving in the military.
-SBD Squad members are recommended (not required) to have Mossy Oak style trousers for green team ops, and Prairie Ghost style trousers for tan ops. Both can be found online or at Walmart stores.

HONOR is the biggest part of airsoft. Therefore all players must have a high sense of honor.

What does honor mean to you?

Honest in all you do.

Open minded.

Not judgmental .

Objective.

Respectful of others.
